Why We're Different
Our log homes are set apart by our longevity in the log home design & manufacturing business.
Over more than four decades of building log homes, we’ve learned which wood species are best, that kiln drying is vital, and that our houses stand the test of time.
We recognize that our people are our greatest asset. Our Sales Staff and Dealers care about our customers’ ideas, concerns and budget. Our designers are gifted at drawing dreams. Our manufacturing team works with precision and pride. Our homeowners are happy with their forever homes. And that’s what matters most to us.
Wood Species
At Wyoming Log Homes, we exclusively use Eastern White Pine for our wall logs, log sidings, support posts, blocking, porch posts, porch plates, porch rafters, railings, and trim. Douglas Fir is used for heavy timber rafters, collar ties, wall-tie trusses, ceiling beams, girders, and timber frame components. After 40 years of manufacturing log and timber homes, we’ve found these renewable species to be the most durable, stable, cost-effective, and energy-efficient – not to mention beautiful.
Kiln Drying
Kiln drying is not an option with us. Properly dried white pine and fir materials are more stable and uniform. Kiln-drying kills pests, stops sap, and allows for accurate grading. Components are lighter, resulting in lower shipping costs and easier construction. Feel confident that every piece of wood we supply for your home has been kiln-dried and inspected right in our mill.
In-house Plan Design
Since 1979, we’ve created dream homes. That’s because our designers have a combined 60+ years of experience in drafting plans that encompass our customers’ desires and needs. This expertise produces a detailed floor plan that makes manufacturing and construction more accurate and more simple. Whether it’s a modest cabin or a palatial retreat, Wyoming Log Homes turns visions of a fantasy home into a tangible reality.
Green Practices
With us, good stewardship of our natural resources isn’t just a slogan, it’s a way of life. We have a long-lasting commitment to sustainability, like green building design, zero-waste manufacturing, and renewable species use, which we employ throughout the process of planning and milling your home.
